  Meta tags are element in the web development process that provide search engines with information about the website. Meta tags are snippets of HTML code that are inserted into the header section of a web page, and contain information such as the page title, description, keywords, and author. Meta tags are invisible to users who visit the website, but search engines use them to determine the relevance and ranking of a web page in search results.   According to Liu, He, and Wang (2019), meta tags play a big role in search engine optimization (SEO), which is the process of optimizing a website to rank higher in search engine results pages. By including relevant keywords in meta tags, website owners can improve their website’s visibility and attract more organic traffic. SEO uses several strategies that help to improve the website's ranking on search engine results pages (SERPs). SEO consist of two primary types which is on-page SEO and off-page SEO. On-page SEO involves optimizing the website's content and structure to make it relevant to search engines. Tim Berners-Lee, a British computer scientist, created the WWW in 1989 while working at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, in Switzerland (Laudon & Traver, 2018). Berners-Lee's vision was to create a way for scientists at CERN to exchange information easily. Initially, the WWW was a tool for sharing text documents with hyperlinks, but it eventually  include multimedia content such as images, videos, and sound files.
